Highland Glens does not sponsor every event.
Many are organized and hosted by individual families.
Kayak Party
Paddle from dock to dock visiting neighbors around a different lake each month of the summer, enjoying snacks and conversation at each stop. Meet neighbors you might not otherwise connect with while experiencing Highland Glens from the water. All ages and skill levels welcome—bring your kayak, canoe, or paddleboard!
Annual Family Picnic (Organized by the Ciupek family)
Our biggest community gathering brings together neighbors of all ages for food, games, and basket raffles. Help the Ciupek family organize raffle items, plan kids' activities, and set up games—or just come enjoy the day. Contact the Ciupeks to volunteer!
Monthly Book Club
Gather with fellow book lovers to discuss everything from bestsellers to classics over coffee (or your beverage of choice) and conversation. Connect with neighbors who love reading, discover new authors, and enjoy thoughtful discussion in a relaxed setting. New members always welcome—no pressure, just great books and company!
Chili Cook-Off and Buffalo Bills watch party (Began fall 2025, organized by the Brombos family)
Compete for bragging rights as Highland Glens' best chili chef or taste everyone's recipes and vote for your favorites. Fall 2026 will bring new categories including "Spiciest," "Most Creative," and "People's Choice." Enter your secret recipe or just show up hungry!
Annual Creek Party (Come relive your old teenage days!)
Adults-only gathering at the creek where you can kick back, relax by the water, and reconnect with that carefree summer feeling. Pure nostalgia, good music, laughter, and the kind of fun that comes from leaving responsibilities at home. Bring a lawn chair, your favorite beverage, and your best stories!
Fourth of July Celebrations
Independence Day has always been a day and night of casual community celebration at The Glens. Neighbors gather organize bonfires, fireworks, potlucks, and family fun!
Annual Halloween Kids Party and Trick-or-Treating
The Krebs family hosts our annual Halloween party complete with games and treats for Highland Glens kids. After the party, children trick-or-treat around the community to participating neighbors who leave porch lights on. It's a safe, fun way for our youngest residents to celebrate Halloween while building community connections!
Annual Christmas Santa Firetruck Parade
Every year, the Cowlesville Volunteer Fire Company brings Santa Claus through Highland Glens on a firetruck, creating a magical holiday tradition that lights up faces young and old. Bundle up and bring the whole family to the end of your driveway to welcome Santa to Highland Glens!
