Highland Glens follows New York State laws governing hunting, ATVs, and off-road vehicles.
Speed Limit:
15 MPH MAXIMUM throughout Highland Glens
Yield to pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles
Time Restrictions:
No operation before 8:00 AM or after sundown
Prohibited Areas:
Water treatment plant property (see map)
Sewer treatment plant property (see map)
Private property (without owner permission)
Lake shorelines and dikes
Golf-cart path
Safety Requirements:
Follow all NYS ATV safety laws
Helmets strongly recommended
Proper lighting if operating near dusk
Age Restrictions:
Operators under 15 MUST have adult supervision
Adult supervision = accompanied by person at least 18 years old

Good Neighbor Guidelines:
Keep noise to minimum
Avoid repetitive passes by same residences
Respect "No ATV" signs on golf-cart trails and requests from neighbors
Clean up any damage you cause
Set a good example for young riders
HUNTING SAFETY, RULES, and REGULATIONS:
for HUNTERS and NON-HUNTERS
Must comply with all NYS hunting regulations
Must have valid NYS hunting license
Safe shooting zones only (see map)
Respect property boundaries
No hunting within 500 feet of occupied residences
Respect fellow hunters. Follow hunting etiquette
Wear bright colors (blaze orange recommended) when walking/hiking during authorized hunting periods
Avoid hunting areas during posted dates (see map and calendar)
Keep pets leashed and in sight
Make noise when hiking to alert hunters to your presence
